    VAN WERT — Vantage Career Center and The Van Wert County Foundation are co-sponsoring a workshop, “Google for Non-profits” for 501 (c) 3 non-profit organizations in the area to test drive the tools and learn how non-profit can benefit from GSuite for Non-profits. It offers a free suite of cloud-based collaboration, productivity, and sharing tools including emails, drive space, and calendars. GSuite for Non-profits is different from the free Gmail accounts you may use and provide organizational control. Visit Google’s site to learn more about these tools.

  • Pettijohn named Van Wert Homecoming Parade Grand Marshall

    VAN WERT – Iconic Cougar fan Mike Pettijohn has been named the Grand Marshal for the 2018 Van Wert High School Homecoming Parade. The parade is set for Wednesday, Sept. 19 at 6:30 p.m. on Jefferson St. The annual Powder Puff game will be played at Eggerss Stadium following the parade. The Homecoming game will be played on Friday, Sept. 21 at 7 p.m. vs. Lima Shawnee. Homecoming Court festivities are scheduled for Friday before the football game.

  • Box office opens soon for Diamond Season

    The box office opens to the public on Monday, Sept. 17 for the opening show of Van Wert Civic Theatre’s Diamond Anniversary Season. Get your ticket to welcome back the Little Sisters of Hoboken in “Nunsense: The Mega Musical Version.” This show follows the plot of the original “Nunsense” which VWCT produced in 1990 but with added characters. This hilarious show features 11 survivors at the convent, the rest of the sisterhood having succumbed to botulism after eating vichyssoise soup prepared by Sister Julia, Child of God. The remaining sisters use their talents to raise funds, so that the last four of the dearly departed — currently stored in the freezer — can be buried.
