VAN WERT – On Monday, Sept. 14, Joshua D. Wolfe, 43, of Willshire, was sentenced on four counts of disseminating matter harmful to juveniles, a felony of the fourth degree, and two counts of sexual imposition, a misdemeanor of the third degree, by Judge Martin Burchfield in the Van Wert County Court of Common Pleas.

Wolfe was sentenced to 18 months prison for each count of disseminating, which are to run consecutive to each other, with credit for 416 days already served. He was also sentenced to 90 days jail for each sexual imposition charge, which will run concurrent to each other and concurrent to the disseminating charges with credit for 90 days already served. He is to serve a total of 72 months in prison with 416 days credit. He is also to register as a Tier 1 Sex Offender and pay Court costs.

TUESDAY, SEPT. 15, 2020


Phillip Erik Schmidt, 47, of Celina, entered a plea of guilty to a prosecutor’s bill of information charging him with aggravated menacing, M1.


Mark Eberle, 42, of Van Wert, appeared for a hearing on the defendant’s motion to withdraw his plea on his conviction/plea for OVI. The matter is taken under advisement.


Milo Holt, Jr., 21, of Van Wert, admitted violating his bond by failing a drug test. A new bond is set at $10,000 cash or commercial surety and pretrial was set for Sept. 23.



James Hayhurst, II, 35, of Van Wert, entered a not guilty plea to domestic violence, a felony of the fourth degree. He was released on a surety bond with an order to have no contact with the alleged victim. A pretrial is set for Oct. 7 at 10:30 a.m.
