LIMA — The following is a weekly report concerning construction and maintenance work on State highways within the Ohio Department of Transportation District 1. All outlined work is weather permitting.

Van Wert County

U.S. 30 at U.S. 224, both eastbound and westbound, Van Wert, will be restricted to one lane through the work zone beginning Monday for a project that will reconstruct and lower the pavement beneath the U.S. 224 overhead to increase vertical clearance. The project also includes drainage work, and replacement of barrier wall and guardrail. The project is expected to be completed late October.

Upcoming impact:

— The ramp from U.S. 224 northbound to U.S. 30 westbound will close in late September for approximately 30 days.

— U.S. 224 is not expected to be affected.

Continuing impact

— U. S. 30 traffic will be maintained in one lane in each direction.

— Liberty Union Road from U.S. 30 to Terry Road closed Aug. 10 for approximately three months.

Multi-Route paving project began Aug. 10. The project includes resurfacing of the existing pavement, pavement repairs, work on curb ramps, and widening of bridge approaches on U.S. 224. Lane restrictions will be in place with traffic being maintained by flaggers. Work is expected to be finished by early October. U.S. 224 from the Indiana state line to the city of Van Wert.

• U.S. 127 from the CSX Railroad line north of Main St. to the intersection of U.S. 127, U.S. 224, and Marsh Road.

• SR 118 in Van Wert the bridge over Town Creek to U.S. 127/Washington St.

• SR 709 from SR 118 to Township Road 58.

Allen County

Interstate 75 between Napoleon Road and State Route 235, just south of the village of Beaverdam to three miles north of the village of Bluffton, in Allen and Hancock counties, will experience lane restrictions and ramp closures for paving and reconstruction through November 2020.

Continuing impacts

• Northbound passing lane at SR 696, Beaverdam, will be shifted to the southbound side.

• Nighttime lane restrictions 7 p.m. – 7 a.m. will continue for approximately two months for paving operations.

Interstate 75, both directions, in the city of Lima between Fourth Street and State Route 81, will have lane restrictions from 4 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday continuing for pavement repairs.

State Route 65/Elm Street and Pine Street at their intersection in the city of Lima closed June 1 for replacement of the bridges over the Ottawa River. Completion is expected in late fall 2020.

New impact

• Elm Street and Pine Street intersection on the southern side of the project may potentially close overnight Aug. 27-28 to pour the bridge decks.

Continuing impact

• The bridges at Elm Street and Pine Street are closed at the intersection of Elm Street and Pine Street.

— Eastbound detour: Central Avenue to Market Street to Bellefontaine Avenue (SR 309/SR 117).

— Westbound detour: Bellefontaine Avenue (SR 309/ SR 117) to Market Street to S. Union Street.

State Route 115 and State Road will have lane restrictions for paving operations

State Route 117 (Shawnee Road) between Garden Boulevard and Cable Road, in the city of Lima, is open after bridge maintenance and repair. Lane restrictions are expected for the installation of reflective pavement markings.

Putnam County

U.S. 224 between the village of Ottawa and State Route 235, Hancock County, will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for a resurfacing project. The project will complete in late September.

U.S. 224 within the village of Ottawa will have lane restrictions for the installation of sidewalk ramps in accordance with the American with Disabilities Act (ADA).

U.S. 224 between the village of Kalida and the village of Ottawa will have lane restrictions for drainage work.

State Route 15 at the intersection of State Route 613 will have lane restrictions for drainage work.

State Route 65 between the Allen County line and the village of Ottawa will have lane restrictions for drainage work.

State Route 108 between SR 613 and Township Road G, approximately one mile south of the village of Miller City, closed on Aug. 3 for approximately 75 days for bridge deck and slope repair over the Miller City cutoff.

Continuing impact

— Detour: SR 613 to SR 109 to SR 18 back to SR 108

State Route 189 at County Road 21, approximately one mile east of the village of Fort Jennings, closed Aug­­­­­. 10 for approximately 19 days for culvert replacements.

Ending impact

— Detour: SR 634 to U.S. 224 to SR 115 back to SR 189

State Route 613 just east of SR 109, near West Leipsic will close Sept. 8 for three days for a culvert replacement.

Upcoming impact

— Detour: SR 109 to SR 65 back to SR 613
