FRIDAY, JANUARY 8, 2021
CHANGE OF PLEA
Jesse
Miller, 30, Convoy, changed his plea to guilty to an amended charge of
attempted tampering with evidence, F4, and to a charge of improperly
handling firearms in a motor vehicle, F4. The Court ordered a
pre-sentence investigation and set sentencing for Feb. 18 at 1:30 p.m.

ARRAIGNMENTS (All entered Not Guilty Pleas)
Kitti
Johnson, 33, Van Wert, was arraigned for complicity, F2, and
conspiracy, F3. She was released on a surety bond, with pretrial set for
Jan. 25 at 1:30 p.m. and a jury trial set for April 5.
James
Jewell, 38, Middle Point, was arraigned for domestic violence, F4. Bond
set at $10,000 cash or commercial surety plus electronic house arrest. A
pretrial was set for Jan. 15 at 1:30 p.m.
Donald O’Day, 44,
Convoy, was arraigned for failure to comply with an order of a police
officer (fleeing), F3, and vandalism, F5. Bond set at $10,000 cash or
commercial surety. A pretrial was set for Jan. 25 at 10:30 a.m.
Brandon
Decker, 23, Van Wert, was arraigned for domestic violence, F4. Bond set
at $25,000 cash or commercial surety and a telephone pretrial was set
for Jan. 25 at 10:15 a.m.
Larry Wilson, 51, Van Wert, was
arraigned for violating a protection order, F5. Bond set at $10,000 cash
or commercial surety and a telephone pretrial was set for Jan. 27 at 8
a.m.
Andrew Thomas, 39, Ohio City, was arraigned for domestic
violence, F3, and aggravated possession of drugs, F5. He also admitted
violating his bond in his previous case by failing to report. He was
released on a surety bond with an order to have no contact with two
victims. A pretrial was set for Jan. 26 at 9 a.m.
Sonny
Metzger, 46, Van Wert, was arraigned for involuntary manslaughter, F1,
corrupting another with drugs, F2, trafficking in fentanyl compound, F5,
complicity, F2, and conspiracy, F3. Bond set at $100,000 cash or
commercial surety and a pretrial was set for Jan. 28 at 9:30 a.m. with a
jury trial set for Apri 5.
Coy McConnell, 24, Van Wert, was arraigned for aggravated possession of drugs, F5. He was released on surety bond and a telephone pretrial was set for Feb. 3 at 9:15 a.m. 2/3/21

ARRAIGNMENTS (All pled not guilty)
Brock Klaus, 21, Van Wert, was arraigned for grand theft, F4. He was released on a surety bond with a telephone pretrial set for Feb. 3 at 9:45 a.m.
Jeremy Workman, 40, Van Wert, was arraigned for possession of fentanyl-related compound, F5. He was released on a surety bond with a telephone pretrial set for Feb. 3 at 9:45 a.m.
Jeffrey Buckner, 45, Monroe, Indiana, was arraigned for burglary, F3, and grand theft of a firearm,
F3. He was released on a surety bond and ordered not to be at a
specific residence located on Wren Landeck Road. A telephone pretrial
was set for Feb. 3 at 8:30 a.m.
CHANGES OF PLEA
Zachary Smith, 22, Van Wert, changed his plea to guilty to domestic violence, F4. The Court ordered a pre-sentence investigation and set sentencing for Feb. 23 at 8:30 a.m.
Joshua Sargent, 39, Van Wert, changed his plea to guilty to violating a civil protection order,
F5. He was then sentenced to 180 days in jail, with credit for 57 days
served. He was ordered to pay costs and partial appointed counsel fees.
VIOLATIONS
Amber
Baker, 30, Van Wert, admitted violating her probation and judicial
release by failing to report to probation. She was sentenced to be
returned to prison for the balance of her original 17 month sentence for
the attempted conveyance of substances into a government facility and aggravated possession of drugs.
