VAN WERT – The following cases were seen in the Court of Common Pleas by Judge Martin Burchfield:

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 3, 2019

BOND VIOLATIONS

Jeremy Nielsen, 40, Ohio City, admitted to violating his bond by failing to report to probation and by failing to appear for court hearing. His bond was set at $5,000 cash or commercial surety and pretrial was set for Oct. 9 at 8 a.m.

Dillon Nihiser, 23, Van Wert, admitted to violating his bond by leaving treatment and by failing a drug test. His bond was set at $10,000 cash or commercial surety and pretrial was set for Oct. 9 at 8 a.m.

Johnathan Wells, 39, Sidney, admitted to violating his bond by failing to report to probation and failing to appear for court hearing. He was released on surety bond and hearing was set for Oct. 9 at 8 a.m.

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 9, 2019

ARRAIGNMENTS (All entered pleas of not guilty)

Tate Arnold, 37, Van Wert, was arraigned for aggravated possession of drugs, F5. He was released on a surety bond, and pretrial was set for Oct. 30 at 8 a.m.

Candelario “Jimmie” Benavidez, Jr., 66, Van Wert, was arraigned for two counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor, F4, two counts of pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor, F4, and two counts of illegal use of minor in nudity oriented material or performance, F4. He was released on a surety bond and ordered to have no contact with the victim. Pretrial was set for Oct. 30 at 8 a.m.

Alexandria Fletter, 21, Van Wert, was arraigned for aggravated possession of drugs, F5, and Possessing drug abuse instruments, M2. She was released on a surety bond. Pretrial was set for Oct. 30 at 8 a.m.

Charles Jenkins, 42, Van Wert, was arraigned for weapons under disability, F3, aggravated trafficking drugs, F3, aggravated possession of drugs, F3, permitting drug abuse, F5, and possession of heroin, F5. He was released on a surety bond. Pretrial was set for Oct. 23 at 8 a.m.

Kendra Keesler, 24, Van Wert, was arraigned for aggravated possession of drugs, F5, and possession of heroin, F5. She was released on a surety bond. Pretrial was set for Oct. 31 at 8 a.m.

Idris Nuriddeen, 44, Van Wert, was arraigned for tampering with evidence, F3, possession of a fentanyl related compound, F5, and possession of heroin, F5. Surety bond as defendant currently in prison on other charges. Pretrial was set for Oct. 23 at 8 a.m.

Korbin Taylor, 21, Van Wert, was arraigned for felonious assault, F2. He was released on a surety bond with no contact order. Pretrial was set for Oct. 30 at 8 a.m.

Kurt Wagner, 19, Continental, was arraigned for aggravated possession of drugs, F5. He was released on a surety bond. Pretrial was set for Nov. 8 at 9:30 a.m.

David Youngpeter, 38, Delphos, was arraigned for attempted murder, F1, felonious assault, F2, aggravated arson, F1, and aggravated arson, F2. Bond set at $250,000 cash or commercial surety and ordered to have no contact with victim. Pretrial was set for Oct. 23 at 8 a.m.

VIOLATIONS

Dillon Nihiser, 23, Van Wert, admitted to violating his intervention in lieu program by failing drug test and failing to report for drug test. Sentencing set for Nov. 27 at 9 a.m.

Brittany Pessefall, 22, Van Wert, admitted to violating her probation by failing to report to probation and failing to attend Westwood sessions. She was sentenced to 67 days jail, credit for 37 days served.

Bobby Lee Panning, 22, Cloverdale, admitted to violating his probation by failing to report for drug screens, admitted drug use, and failing to report to probation. He was sentenced to 160 days jail with 128 days credit.

Robert Thompson, 35, Van Wert, appeared for a work release violation. His request to reinstate his work release was denied.

Nicole Cooper, 36, Van Wert, admitted to violating her probation by failing to report to probation, failing to report for drug screens, and positive drug screen. She was sentenced to 180 days jail on the first count, 114 days on the second count, consecutive, for a total of 294 days, credit for 204 days served.

SENTENCINGS

Andrew Taylor, 33, Van Wert, was sentenced for obstructing official business, F5. He was sentenced to 30 days jail, 0 credit, with work release. He is to report to jail at 2 p.m. Wednesday. He was ordered to pay costs and partial appointed counsel fees.

Erik Buzard, 23, Van Wert, was sentenced for trespass in habitation, F4. He was sentenced to 3 years community control, 10 days jail beginning Oct. 17, 30 days jail at a later date, 200 hours community service, ordered to not use drugs, prescription drugs or alcohol without a prescription, must report for random tests, substance abuse and mental health evaluation and treatment, 2 years intensive probation. He was also ordered to pay restitution to landlord of $311, and restitution of $500 to a victim. Buzard must also pay partial appointed counsel fees, monthly probation fee, and court costs.
