VAN WERT – A Willshire man has been indicted on 24 sex-related felony charges in the Van Wert Court of Common Pleas.

Joshua Wolfe, 42, of Willshire, appeared for a 24-count indictment on Wednesday. Wolf was arraigned on three counts of rape, F1, two counts of sexual battery, F2, gross sexual imposition, F2, nine counts of gross sexual imposition, F3, and nine counts of disseminating matter harmful to juveniles, F4.

His bond was set at $500,000 cash or commercial surety, with a pretrial set for Oct. 2 at 9 a.m. A trial is set for Nov. 19

BOND VIOLATIONS

Melissa Searles, 31, Ohio City, admitted to violating her bond by failing to appear for Court and failing to report to probation. Bond was set at $5,000 cash or commercial surety and pretrial was set for Sept. 25 at 8 a.m.

Jeremy Dunbar, 22, Van Wert, admitted to violating his bond by failing to report for Court hearing on Sept. 4. Bond was set at $5,000 cash or commercial surety and pretrial was set for Sept. 25 at 8 a.m.

WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 11, 2019

ARRAIGNMENTS (All entered not guilty pleas)

Christopher Carpenter, 18, Decatur, Indiana, was arraigned on rape, F1 (two counts), and gross sexual imposition, F3 (two counts). Bond was set at $250,000 cash or commercial surety. He was ordered to have no contact with victim. If he makes bond, he must go on EMHA (house arrest). Pretrial was set for Sept. 25 at 8 a.m.

Paul Bakle, 36, Columbia City Indiana, was arraigned for aggravated possession drugs, F5. He was released on a surety bond, with pretrial set for Oct. 2 at 8 a.m.

Jose Sanchez, 40, Van Wert, was arraigned on domestic violence, F3. He was released on a surety bond, with pretrial set for Oct. 2 at 10 a.m.

Jeremy Lindeman, 37, Van Wert, was arraigned on possession of cocaine, F5, and possession of heroin, F5. He was released on a surety bond, with pretrial set for Oct. 2 at 8 a.m.

Brendan Bergman, 24, Van Wert, was arraigned on aggravated possession of drugs, F3. He was released on a surety bond, with pretrail set for Oct. 2 at 9 a.m.

Johnathan Murphy, 34, Van Wert, attempted having weapons under disability, F4. He was released on a surety bond, with pretrial set for Oct. 2 at 8 a.m.

Doniven Helm, 22, Van Wert, was arraigned on domestic violence, F4. He was released on a surety bond with with pretrial set for Oct. 2 at 9 a.m.

Jay Yoh, 60, Van Wert, was arraigned on improper handling firearm in motor vehicle, F4, using weapon while intoxicated, M1, and OVI, M1. He was released on a surety bond with pretrial set for Oct. 2 at 8 a.m.

John Curts, 40, Willshire, three counts of identity fraud, F4, identity fraud, F5, and engaging in a pattern corrupt activity, F2. He was released on a surety bond with with pretrial set for Oct. 2 at 8 a.m.

Joshua Hawk, 42, Montpelier, Indiana, was arraigned on OVI, F4, and failure to reinstate license, unclassified Misdemeanor. He was released on a surety bond with waiver of extradition. Pretrial was set for Oct. 2 at 8 a.m.

VIOLATIONS

Alexander Chorvas, 24, Van Wert, admitted to violating his bond by failing to appear for Court hearing and failure to report to probation. He was re-released on a prior bond of $10,000 cash or commercial surety, with pretrial set for Oct. 2 at 9 a.m.

SENTENCING

Charles Miller, 64, Van Wert, was sentenced for theft, F5. He was sentenced to two years community control, 30 days jail at date to be determined, no drugs or alcohol without prescription, substance abuse assessment and treatment, and ordered to pay restitution of $3,200, plus partial appointed counsel fees and court costs.

Kollin Taylor, 19, Van Wert, was sentenced for trespass in habitation, F4. He was sentenced to three years community control, up to 6 months at WORTH Center, substance abuse and mental health assessment and treatment, ordered to complete his GED, 200 hours community service, two years intensive probation, and ordered to pay partial appointed counsel fees, monthly probation fee, and costs.

Zachariah Minyoung, 18, Van Wert, was sentenced for trespass in habitation, F4, He was sentenced to three years community control, up to 6 months at WORTH Center, substance abuse and mental health assessment and treatment, ordered to complete his GED, 200 hours community service, two years intensive probation, and ordered to pay partial appointed counsel fees, monthly probation fee, and costs.

Landon Clifton, 33, Convoy, was sentenced for theft, M1. He was sentenced to seven days jail beginning Nov. 11, with work release, and ordered to pay $800 restitution and costs.

Jason Allen, 46, Middle Point, was sentenced for two counts of felonious assault, F2, three counts of obstructing official business, F5, and OVI, M1. He was sentenced to five years prison on each felonious assault charge, to run consecutive; 12 months prison on each obstructing charge, to run concurrent with each other and concurrent with felonious assault charges; 180 days jail on OVI, concurrent with felonious assault charges; for total of 10 years prison with credit for three days served.

James Dunno, 34, Paulding, was sentenced for theft of firearm, F3. He was sentenced to 18 months prison, and given credit for one day served.

Jenifer Lynnsey Jane Davis, 23, Van Wert, was sentenced for unauthorized use of vehicle, M1. She was sentenced to 60 days jail credit, and ordered to pay restitution of $500 to a victim as well as partial appointed counsel fees plus costs.

CHANGES OF PLEA

Dawne Taylor, 54, Van Wert, changed her plea to guilty to aggravated trafficking drugs, F3. The Court ordered a pre-sentence investigation and set sentencing for Oct. 30 at 9 a.m.
