    Everyone is invited to the opening reception for our 29th Annual Artists’ Exhibit & Sale, held Friday, Nov. 23 from 6–9 p.m. with music, free appetizers, cash bar, and great company. Award ceremony will conducted along with Art Park sponsor recognition. Just in time for the holidays, this show provides a great opportunity to purchase quality merchandise, from local producers.

    After her first presentation to members of the Van Wert Area Photography Club and visitors went so well, professional photographer Carrie Mckeddie was invited to speak again on Thursday, Nov. 8. It was another outstanding performance!

  • Theatre conducts subscription drive

    After a successful subscription drive, sellers met recently at the theatre for a much-deserved celebration. Thanks to the generous support of the Northwest Ohio Theatre Fraternal Association cash prizes were awarded and top sellers were announced. Selling an inspiring 29 percent of season tickets was top seller, Lisa Eichler. Second and third place sellers, Terry Plas and Lori Allen combined to sell 19 percent of sales. They along with many others on the team made countless phone calls, and personal requests all in an effort to provide funds to keep the theatre running for yet another season. These hard-working volunteers are vital to the success of the theatre and are very much appreciated.

    We have some time off from Niswonger productions this weekend, although the VWHS Drama department is presenting their fall play on Friday and Saturday night. Catch their show, "Little Women," at 7 p.m. each night. Tickets may be purchased in the Niswonger box office in advance or at the door.

  • Holiday Lights at the Fair coming soon

    VAN WERT — The Van Wert 4-H Exchange Club invites the public to the 2018 Holiday Lights at the Fair. This year’s show marks the 11th year of the light show. In 2007, the club started with only 13 displays and 500 vehicles drove thru. This year’s show has 110 plus displays and they are expecting 3,500 vehicles to drive thru. Exhibits are themed around the holidays and are supplied by local businesses, individuals, churches and clubs.

  • YMCA to hold ball drop fundraiser

    VAN WERT — “It’s a Ball” drop at the YMCA of Van Wert County. Monday, Dec. 10, the YMCA of Van Wert County will be carrying-out a unique fundraiser – a ball drop to raise funds for youth sports. Hundreds of numbered balls will be dropped from the second floor of the Y into a mini Basketball hoop on the ground. Tickets have been sold with corresponding numbers and the person who purchased the number which lands on or closest to the hoop will win half of the ticket proceeds.
