VAN WERT — In honor of the heroes who have served our country, team members at First Bank of Berne, headquartered in Berne, Indiana, rallied together on Veteran’s Day to give their respects, and serve the local communities in which they reside.

Employees from the First Bank of Berne Van Wert Branch spent the day donating their time back to area organizations right here in the Van Wert community. Through the giving of their time and community service, First Bank of Berne employees were able to engage with local community members and businesses and provide support to those who need it most.

In total, nine First Bank of Berne employees donated over 27 hours on Nov. 11, 2019.

The Van Wert Branch team members worked together to make blankets, and then distribute the blankets to the local nursing homes. First Bank of Berne is well-known in the area for their dedication to the community, its members and support for local organizations.

“Giving back is a part of our company culture. The leadership at First Bank of Berne has always stressed service before self, and we are so grateful to donate our time back into our community,” said Rebecca Stepleton, Branch Manager – Van Wert.

Established in 1891, First Bank of Berne has nine convenient offices, located in Indiana and Ohio.
