BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Despite rumblings that two Peanuts holiday
specials wouldn’t be airing on free network television, the beloved
classics will, in fact, be airing on WBGU-PBS.
“A Charlie Brown
Thanksgiving” airs Sunday, Nov. 22 at 7:30 p.m. while “A Charlie Brown
Christmas” airs Sunday, Dec. 13 at 7:30 p.m. Please check your local
listing for channel number.
These programs are being made possible
by a special partnership between PBS and Apple TV+. Both classics will
air on PBS stations nationwide, ad-free. Streaming via PBS or locally on
WBGU-PBS is not available. Streaming is through Apple TV+ only with a
limited streaming window.
It was announced earlier this fall that
the programs would be moving from network television which prompted much
outcry and resulted in a virtual online petition to them have returned.
Now Peanuts fans will be able to watch Charlie Brown, Snoopy and the
gang on their holiday adventures on network television as they have for
the last half century (47 years for the Thanksgiving special and 55
years for the Christmas special).
WBGU-PBS is a PBS affiliate and
partner of Bowling Green State University serving a 19-county region
