MIDDLE POINT – Lincolnview High School’s Peony Pageant representative Kylie Hohman is hoping that by representing her school in the pageant, she can inspire others and be a positive role model.

“I wanted to be a part of the Peony Pageant to make new friends,” said Hohman. “It’s a great opportunity, and I really want to be a great role model for all of the youth in our community.”

Hohman, daughter of Kim and Dan Hohman who own Kim Hohman’s DanceWorks, said she has enjoyed the dance rehearsals with the other girls. Hohman has also enjoyed speaking to Rotary and Service Club members.

For her talent, Hohman will be performing a dance that she choreographed to “Rise Up” by Andra Day.

After high school, Hohman plans to attend Aveda Institute in Columbus where she plans to obtain her esthetician licenses.

“With the esthetician license I will be able to do waxing, facials, microblading, and more,” said Hohman.

After that, Hohman plans to continue her education to earn a business degree.

“I really enjoy makeup and making people feel good about themselves,” said Hohman.

Hohman is a cheerleader at Lincolnview where she and the team recently placed second at the State competition, missing the top spot by less than one point. Hohman and the Lincolnview cheer team placed first at State in 2018.

While there are still several more weeks until the Peony Pageant, Hohman said the experience has been very worthwhile and encourages others to enter the contest.

“I would tell others to do it because they can make great friends from being in the Peony Pageant,” said Hohman. “It’s really just a great opportunity.”

In addition to meeting new people, Hohman said the interview process allows contestants to practice their interview skills for future jobs.
