VAN WERT – Main Street Van Wert, Edward Jones and the Wassenberg Art Center will be dedicating the Fmr. Mayor Eugene Bagley Alley located across from the Van Wert County Court House on East Main Street.

Ezra Miller who’s performed at the Wassenberg Art Center will be performing live music starting after the ribbon cutting. Local favorite Collins Fine Foods will be on site along with Whip-N-Chill to offer tasty ice cream and sno-cones for families who want to enjoy the event. Main Street and Wassenberg volunteers will be selling pop, water and a selection of beers for the adults to enjoy as a fundraiser for the organization.

An exciting opportunity to bring placemaking to the community will be presented by Big Car Collaborative, the team who’s working on the Fort Wayne Electric Works site (former GE campus) and Indianapolis based firm who’s responsible for several neighborhood revitalization projects. The team from Big Car will provide a historic post-card activity for everyone to enjoy along with additional games and features.

The Design Committee of Main Street Van Wert which has been lead by Mitch Price along with the Wassenberg Staff has been busy at work in the alley getting the place ready for the dedication. Main Street Van Wert’s Executive Director Dan Baisden said “This is the first phase of the project and as we gauge interest in the space we may consider additional phases in the future. We’re so thankful to Edward Jones Investments and their local Financial Advisors, the family of Fmr. Mayor Eugene Bagley and the dozens of community members and organizations who donated to make this project possible.”
