David John Williams, 88, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2018, after a brief illness. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, the former Sue Dustman; children, David Evans Williams (Susan) of Louisville, Beth Ann Harris (Brett) of Lewis Center, Ohio, and Kymberly Sue Smith (Mark) of Atlanta, Georgia; grandchildren, Ben Williams (Lesley), Nathan Williams, Lake Harris, Grant Harris, Emma Smith, and Gwyneth Smith; and great-grandson, Bennett Williams. He was preceded in death by granddaughter, Hannah Jo Williams.

The son of B. David and Mabel Williams, Dave was born near Van Wert, Ohio, on Nov. 19, 1929. He graduated from Ohio Northern University and spent his career as a civil engineer and hydrologist. He was a life member of the National Society of Professional Engineers and of the American Society of Civil Engineers, a 32nd Degree Free and Accepted Mason, and an active member of Christ Church United Methodist in Louisville, Kentucky.

A memorial service will be held in Dave’s honor on Saturday, Nov. 24 at 11:30 a.m. at Christ Church United Methodist, 4614 Brownsboro Road. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. in the Parlor of the church.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Kavanaugh Conference and Retreat Center, Crestwood, Kentucky.
