PAYNE, Ohio — Michael L. Denning, 59, died Friday, Feb. 7, 2020, at his residence following a long illness.

He was born in Paulding, on Nov. 6, 1960, the son of Ralph and Janet (Burkley) Denning. On Sept. 25, 1981, he married Jody Schwab. He attended Woodburn Missionary Church, was previously employed by Mechanical Insulators Local 41, and formerly owned and operated Good Times Bar & Grill, Payne.

Mike was a Wayne Trace Junior High football coach and Payne Little League Association Director. He was an avid fan of Ohio State sports and Wayne Trace sports. He enjoyed snowmobiling, motorcycling, golf, and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Jody Denning of Payne; parents, Ralph and Janet Denning of Payne; children, Gabriel (Maycee) Denning of Payne, Josh (Niki) Denning of Bowling Green, Ohio, and Lauren (Aaron) Brown of Leipsic; siblings, Steve (Jeanise) Denning and Tammy (Chris) Brigner, both of Payne; and a grandson, Colton Denning.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12 at the Woodburn Missionary Church, Woodburn, Indiana. He will be laid to rest in Lehman Cemetery, Payne, Ohio.

Visitation will be 2 – 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11 at Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding. There will also be visitation on Wednesday at the church from 10 a.m. until time of services.
