VAN WERT – Keaton Foster had a 37 and Griff McCracken shot a 40 to lead the Van Wert Cougars to a 164-171 win over visiting Wayne Trace Monday afternoon at Willow Bend Country Club.
Sam Houg chipped in a 43 for the Cougars with A.J. Proffitt adding a 44 while Blake Bohyer shot a 48. T.J. Stoller carded a 49 as well for Van Wert.
Kyle Sutton paced Wayne Trace with a 39 while Evan Crosby and Nyle Stoller carded rounds of 43 and 44, respectively. Tyler Davis added a 45 for the Raiders followed by Jared Varner (46) and Connor Davis (50).
Wayne Trace won the junior varsity match 191-221 over the Cougars.
Carter Clemens had a 43 for the Raiders with Tyson Gerber adding a 48 and Ryan Parker posted a 49. Kaden Clark (51), Caden Tumblin (54) and Konnor Wannemacher (55) completed the list of Wayne Trace players.
Van Wert was led by Carter Wright with a 52 while Dierks Kosch chipped in a 54. Christian Wallenhurst added a 57 for the Cougars with Brock Stoller, Hayden Dowler and Trevor Halker all adding a 58 each. Clayton Fast and Landon Fox finished with rounds of 63 and 74.
