VAN WERT — Parkway was in control from the opening set in a sweep victory over Van Wert on Tuesday night.
Final scores for the three-setter were 25-9, 25-17 and 25-19.
Gabrielle Stober led all hitters in the game with 18 kills, followed by Macy Johnson who had 15.
Brittyn Bruns also had a team-high 21 assists and 10 digs.
Parkway began the night with eight of the first 10 points. When the score reached 11-3, the Lady Panthers ripped off another 9-2 run to go up by 16.
Stober and Johnson combined for seven kills in the opening set and Emmery Temple added a pair of kills in the 25-9 opening set win.
The second set was tied on and off all the way up until point 13 where Bruns aced a serve to account for the set's final lead-change. Stober accounted for kills on three straight plays at points 18, 19 and 20.
Johnson recorded her fourth kill of the set at point 24 and Allison Hughes ended things with a kill at the 25-17 final.
Van Wert remained close for a good part of the third set, but ultimately Stober and Johnson held on to the game down the stretch for Parkway in a 25-19 final set.
The Lady Panthers are now 13-2 on the season and remain 3-2 in conference play. They'll be back in action for a MAC showdown with state-ranked Marion Local on Thursday.
Van Wert remains without a win at 0-15 on the season. Their next game is on Thursday at Shawnee.
