HAVILAND – Green Meadows Conference co-leader Fairview traveled to
the ‘Palace’ Tuesday night in high school volleyball action where the
Lady Apaches posted a straight-set win over Wayne Trace.
The black
and gold won game one 25-16 before visitors from Defiance County
captured the second set 25-11. Fairview then wrapped up the match with a
25-9 decision in game three.
Katrina Stoller recorded three
kills, two aces and five digs for Wayne Trace with Gracie Shepherd
posting 11 slams and one block. Kacy Hornish dished out a dozen assists
for the red, white and blue and picked up three digs.
Sydnee Sinn
and Tiffany Sinn each finished the night with a pair of slams and a dig
while Morgan Hefner added two blocks and three digs. Rachel Stoller
chipped in two kills as well with Hannah Sanderson having one ace, one
kill, one assist and one dig.
Wayne Trace also benefited from seven assists and one dig from Paige Alber and Natalie Schultz picked up four digs.
Fairview’s junior varsity also went home victorious, taking home victories of 25-16 and 25-13 over the Lady Raiders.
Leading
the way for Wayne Trace was Christina Graham with five kills and five
digs while Molly Shepherd dished out eight assists and picked up four
digs.
Abbie Stoller chipped in four digs and an assist and Malia
Witwer had two kills and one dig. Abby Moore also had a pair of slams
for the Lady Raiders while Anna Miller had one kill and Brandy Miller
picked up one dig.
Macy Doster picked up eight digs for the red, white and blue while Elise Miller had three and Laura Thornell recorded two.
