DEFIANCE - Kaden Sutton shot a 37 to take medalist honors and lead the Wayne Trace boys golf team to a tri-match win over Fairview and Holgate at Auglaize Golf Course Thursday evening.

The Raiders shot a 166 to win the match followed by the Apaches (191) and Tigers (217).

Dane Moore added a 41 for Wayne Trace with Cale Crosby carding a 43 and Reid Miller chipping in a 45.

Evan Crosby and Garrett Williamson posted rounds of 50 and 55, respectively.

Fairview was led by J.T. Nusbaum with a 45 while Nathaniel Adkins and Jasiel Laguna both recorded a 48. Ronnie Adkins (50), Brendan Degryse (52) and Wesley Joice (66) completed the Apache lineup.

Josh Tobias paced Holgate with a 41 followed by Joseph Kelly (48), Robbie Thacker (62), Micah Bok (66) and Conner Haase (71).


CELINA - The Van Wert golf team traveled to Northmor to take on St. Mary’s on Thursday night.

The Rough Riders won the match, carding a round of 154 to Van Wert’s 175.

Match medalist went to Austin Boley with a 36.

Lowest scorer for the Cougars was Cameron Terhark with a career best 42, followed by Jace Fast with a 43 and Gavin Flickinger shot a 44.

Zane Fast and Evan Knittle contributed a pair of 46’s. Blake Boyher shot his best round of the season with a 57. “I was really proud of the guys today as they worked really hard on achieving personal goals,” said Van Wert Head Coach Kim Doidge. “Scores are coming down, and this was our best dual match score of the season.”

The Cougars record is now 1-4 in the WBL, 2-4 overall.


WOODBURN - Claire Sinn shot a personal best score of a 40 as the Wayne Trace Lady Raiders coasted to a quadrangular match win over Green Meadows Conference rivals Edgerton, Hicksville and Tinora at Pond-A-River Golf Course Thursday evening.

The red, white and blue finished with a team score of 186 to cruise past the second place Bulldogs, who finished with a 227.

Hicksville placed third at 228 and Tinora was fourth with a 276.

Kenadie Daeger added a 43 for Wayne Trace while Addie Etzler shot a 50 and Emma Crosby posted a 53. Alli Denny and Chloe Parker added scores of 54 and 55, respectively, for the Lady Raiders.

Briana Walkup led Edgerton with a 45 while Madison and Greta Brown both shot a 59. Charlotte Blalock (64) and Breanna Reliford (75) completed the Bulldog list of players.

Hicksville was paced by Kenzie Schroeder with a 46 followed by Morgan Fogle (53), Leah Seitz (58), Makeegan Bailey (71), Alyssa Seitz (72) and Tori Perna (73).

Emma Luthi was the low scorer for the green and white with a 58 and Savannah Welling posted a 69. Rylee Joost chipped in a 70 for Tinora and Zoe Gomez carded a 79.


CELINA - The Parkway boys golf team hosted St. Johns on Thursday and fell to the Blue Jays 168-179.

Match medalist honors were shared by the Panthers Caden Slusher and the Blue Jays Jack Gerker with both golfers posting scores of 38.

Scorers for St Johns were Lincoln Mueller (42), Jared Lucas (43), and Trent Lindeman (45).

Jeffrey Odenwelller(47) and Adam Fischer (48) played but did not score for the Blue Jays.

Scorers for Parkway were Gabe Schaaf (45), Hunter Gibson (47) and Camdyn Clay (49).

Kaden Boroff (49) and Breyden Bruns (50) played but did not score for the Panthers.
