CONVOY — Crestview scored four runs in the second inning, which was plenty of run support as the pitching staff was able to throw a shutout against the visiting Jeffcats. The Knights finished the game, winning 6-0.

The Knights four runs in the second came off of two walks and two singles, with an error aiding in the runs. Heit, Lichtensteiger, Licthie, Strunkenburg scored all four runs for the Knights.

Crestview scored two insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. Lichtensteiger led off with a walk and later came to score. After a putout by the third baseman, Strunkenburg came up and singled to left field. He, too, later came around to score.

Forwerck was the starting pitcher for Crestview on Monday, and he threw a gem. The hurler allowed just two hits in his shut out effort.

For the Jeffcats the two hits came from the same bat, Colin Bailey single in both of his first two at bats, and reached base on his third by an error.

Herron started the game for the Jeffcats and was relieved by Bailey on the hill in the sixth inning.
