VAN WERT — The Lady Lancers of Lincolnview kicked off their golf season by hosting the Lady Lancer Invitational, which was played at the Hickory Sticks Golf Course on Monday. With the temperature hovering around 90 with the same percent humidity, the 11-team field competed for the championship trophy.

The Thunderbirds of Lima Central Catholic created some heat of their own as they smoked the field by shooting a tournament record (previously held by Lincolnview- 359) with a score of 309. Wayne Trace finished as runner-up with a team score of 372. Hicksville, 10 shots behind the Raiders, 382, finished in third place. The Parkway Panthers were the only other team in the 300’s as they tallied 399.

The individual match medalist was earned by LCC’s Erin Mulcahy as she shot new tournament record with a 2-under par 70. She beat the previous record of 71 held by the Lancers Mikenna Klinger. A common theme was coming into focus as the Mulcahy family also took home the runner up medalist and the third place medal. Mary Kelly Mulcahy was runner-up with a 76 and Meghan Mulcahy recorded a 78. Hicksville’s Micah Schroeder, the defending medalist, tallied a 79 for fourth place with the Raiders pointman, Kenadie Daeger, claiming the fifth medalist position with an 80.

Other top 10 scores were obtained by: LCC Hannah Garver 85 (6th), Wayne Trace Claire Sinn 92 (7th), LCC Emma Mayers 92 (8th), Parkway Mecaylah Hesse 93 (9th), and Allen East Kasey Meyer 94 (10th).

Team scores after Parkways fourth place finish included: 5th Fairview 412, 6th Antwerp 440, 7th Delphos Jefferson 452, 8th Celina 479.

Other teams that participated with individuals were; Lincolnview, Allen East, and Marion Local.

Lincolnview was led in scoring by sophomore Winter Boroff with a 103. A pair of freshman, playing in their first match, had Aryonna Hoghe tally a 113 with Adalee Purk shooting a 159.

Parkway had team members that included Hesse, Haylee Stukey-97, Autumn Ellis-98, Lauren Henderson-111, and Madison Kroeger-125.

Wayne Trace team member included: Daeger, Sinn, Addie Etzler- 99 and Olivia Klinker-101.
