MIDDLE POINT — In a season that has been full of transition with a goal of changing the culture, the Lady Lancers have had some rough spots, but on Tuesday night against Ridgemont they played loose, relaxed, and even had a little bit of fun along the way, blowing out the Golden Gophers 63-23.

Brianna Ebel's 12 and Lana Carey's 11 led way in game that saw 11 Lincolnview players contribute points.

Freshman Mackayla Jackman provided a spark off the bench scoring eight points and dishing out some impressive assists.

The only time the Lady Lancers trailed in the game was in the opening moments of the first quarter, and from that point on, they held a lead that continued to grow.

After Ridgemont jumped out to a 6-5 lead, Lincolnview ripped off six straight points to take the lead for the duration of the game on a Lana Carey free throw, and five straight points by Kendall Bollenbacher.

Jennifer Jordan stopped the bleeding for the Golden Gophers with triple, but the Lancers answered immediately with four straight points to close the quarter with a 15-9 lead.

As time went on, the runs would get larger, and Lincolnview wasted no time in the second quarter scoring the first eight points on back-to-back 3-pointers by Brianna Ebel and Annie Mendenhall.

At this point, Ebel and Mendenhall were taking turns scoring. Ebel sunk a two, followed by a free throw from Brooke Nelson, and then another three by Mendenhall would cap off an 11-1 run to open the third.

With a 26-10 lead, Lincolnview Head Coach Kyle Williams looked a little deeper down his bench and subbed in MacKayla Jackman, which turned out to be the perfect choice.

Jackman ripped off six straight points for Lincolnview, shooting the ball with confidence when she was called on.

Ridgemont managed only four points in the quarter, two of those from the free throw line, giving Lincolnview a commanding 37-13 at the half after a 22 point frame.

The Golden Gophers stepped their game up a little bit in the third, but they were clearly no match for the Lady Lancers on this night.

The visitors started the second half with buckets by Nelson and Callie Cromer before the home team went on yet another run.

Baskets by Ebel, Jackman, and five points from Carey blew the lead up to 29, and by the time the quarter ended the difference had climbed to 30.

Lincolnview starters stayed in for the opening minutes of the fourth, but the Lancers large lead allowed them to let their JV players finish out the game.

At the end of the night the score settled at 63-23 with Lincolnview coming out on top. The Lady Lancers (3-18) will finish up the regular season at home against Ada on Thursday.
