Lady Panthers top Antwerp

CELINA — The Parkway girls golf team defeated Antwerp 207-234 at Celina Lynx on Thursday morning. Haylee Stukey was medalist for the Panthers with a 45. Autumn Ellis shot a 52, Mecaylah Hesse had a 53 and Lauren Henderson rounded out scorers with a 57. Maddy Kroeger was the fifth player with a 60.

For Antwerp, Carly Hanes led the way with a 52, Kendyl Miller had a 56, Shayla Thomas had a 58 and Kari Donut scored a 69.

Lady Raiders fourth at Defiance

DEFIANCE - Mary Kelly Mulcahy shot a 79 while sisters Meghan Mulcahy added an 80 and Erin Mulcahy chipped in an 84 to lead the Lima Central Catholic Thunderbirds to the championship of the Defiance Girls Golf Invitational at Eagle Rock Golf Course on Thursday.

The Thunderbirds took the championship with a 332 to easily get past second place Sylvania Northview’s 369 while Shawnee was third with a 388.

Wayne Trace finished fourth at 423 while Sylvania Southview and Hicksville each posted totals of 424. Tinora (446), Defiance (482), Celina (491), Rossford (511) and Fairview (520) rounded out the field.

Lexi Knight of Sylvania Northview claimed tournament medalist honors with a 73.

Kenadie Daeger paced the Lady Raiders with a 91, while Olivia Klinker chipped in a 108, and Addie Etzler carded a 111. Claire Sinn posted a 113 for Wayne Trace.

Parkway 7th at Contini Invite

HARROD — Seven schools took part in the annual Rob Contini Invitational at Colonial Hills Golfer’s Club outside of Lima on Thursday.

Spencerville’s Ethan Harmon paced the field with a 78 to capture tournament medalist honors as the Bearcats edged Shawnee by six strokes to win the team championship, 331-337. Gavin Harmon was runner-up medalist with a 78 for Spencerville, which also saw Drake Metz (87) and Alex Gallman (89) post sub-90 scores.

Parkway’s Mason Baxter carded a 95 to lead the young Panthers, but his team brought up the rear in the field with a 444. Other scores for Parkway included a 115 from Hunter Gibson, and a pair of 117’s by Brayden Bruns and Kaden Boroff. Jay Anderson added a 121 and Andy Metz shot a 122.

Lima Central Catholic was third with a 361. Elida (364) was fourth, followed by Arlington (385), Bath (407) and Parkway.

The Panthers are back on the course of Friday at the Celina Invitational, which is played at Parkway’s home course, Celina Lynx.
