CELINA — Both Parkway and Van Wert traveled to Celina on Friday to compete in the Celina Invitational at the Celina Lynx Golf Club.

Of the 20 teams, that competed Liberty-Benton walked away the victors with a team score of 309. They actually tied Kalida with a traditional four man score, but walked away victorious because the tie-breaking rule declared the winner was the team with a lower score, when including the fifth score from each team. Liberty-Benton’s was lower than Kalida’s.

Christan Nartker from Kalida was the medal winner with a 71. Noah Brand from Liberty-Benton was close behind with a 74.

Van Wert finished 15th as a team out of 20 schools, with a score of 374. Gavin Flickinger led the Cougars with a score of 85. Zane Fast (91), Evan Knittle (99) and Cameron Terhark (99) rounded out scoring.

Parkway finished last out of the 20 teams with an accumulative score of 430. Mason Baxter led the way for the Panthers with a 96. Adam Stephenson (104), Breyden Bruns (112) and Andy Metz (118) completed scoring for Parkway.
